Concealing without a permit

First, I'm not going to. I don't even own a reasonably concealable firearm.
This is a question from a conversation I had with a friend.
Now the question. What would be the penalty for carrying a concealed firearm without a concealed permit?

shouldn't be one if you are willing to take it to the LA Supreme Court under "strict scrutiny"

It should be a kick in the nuts. I believe that we should be able to conceal carry constitutionally, but until then, every person getting nabbed doing stupid stuff with guns makes us all look bad.

What about on private property? If you are on your own property, can you carry concealed? Say, sitting by the pool? Or while cutting grass?

No penalty I live in Mississippi. Our governor encourages us to exercise our constitutional right to carry.

Up to 500 bucks vs Permit costs??
Chance you take I guess. But then again, if you shot someone can that be held against you in court?

Depends... are you a convicted felon?

No convicted felon, legally can own a firearm, hunt, etc...

Since when? Open yes. I don't see anything about being able to conceal without a permit

Why would you want to conceal carry a gun around your own pool on while cutting your own grass?? I could see if you were bush hogging and saw snakes but why conceal? You can just open carry on your hip.

In case the pool boy starts getting fresh with the wife or daughters.

I did it for a while, but my permit process took like 9 months. I don't think NOPD is out to get white guys

I used to do it occasionally coming and going from work as a bartender. I always figured no one would know unless I pulled it out, which would also mean I shot someone and had a very good reason to do so. At which point whether or not it was concealed and/or whether or not I was permitted would be a minor issue in the whole scheme of things. But times were different back then.

And it's a misdemeanor. Would that prohibit you from getting a CCP in the future, or is it only felonies and domestic battery?

State ex rel. J.M., 144 So. 3d 853 (La. 2014)
Finally, the Louisiana Supreme Court also held in 2014 that the legislature retained the ability to pass laws regarding the carrying of concealed weapons, despite the 2012 amendment to the state’s constitution.
In ruling that the challenged statutes regulating concealed carry and prohibiting juvenile handgun possession except under certain circumstances passed review under strict scrutiny, the court held that “[t]he right to keep and bear arms, like other rights guaranteed by [the] state constitution, is not absolute.” The court found “‘a long history, a substantial consensus, and simple common sense’ to be sufficient evidence for even a strict scrutiny review.”
The court concluded that “the drafters and ratifiers [of the 2012 constitutional amendment] did not intend to invalidate the existing law restricting the carrying of concealed weapons, or to restrict the legislature’s authority to pass laws on that subject.”

Worst of all, you can hang up your chances of meaningful employment if you have a weapon charge.
