Anyone have any recommended places to quail hunt in South LA. I know Covey Rise, but went to a place in Tylertown MS about 10 years ago. Not sure if they are still operational. Was a good price and a nice land. ...

Gator Tail Center Console

Trying to decide if the CC is worth it. I have a long run to get to the blind and would use the boat for fishing a lot too. Don't really ever hunt out of the boat so the loss of space isn't that big of a problem. Any pros/cons over the tiller? How does is handle in a few inches of water when you nee...
We didn't get here early like we planned. I bought a Marlin 17 on clearance and took a while haha. Unfortunately the report from my gf's dad was bad. He didn't see much around here and heard the same from some other landowners in the area. Still gonna get out there in the a.m. and give em hell if t...
Good deal Redfish. I'll let you know what I see. We are south of town, next to woods and turkey creek haha. We hunted up that way last season and were a day late getting on some doves. But we hunted closer to tensas just south of Waverly. Not sure if we'll be going back there again or not....
where are you hunting in Winnsboro? We're going to be just South of town and will be up there tomorrow afternoon. I'll let you know what I see when we get up there....

Mojo Dove Tree

Posted by Old #7 on 8/30/16 at 2:17 pm
Is this thing worth it? We normally have small trees around us and or power lines, but this weekend I'm hunting a new spot that is wide open sunflower/millet field. Is it worth it to put some spinners just above the sunflowers to attract them. I've never been so amazed to see mojos hanging from po...
What about on private property? If you are on your own property, can you carry concealed? Say, sitting by the pool? Or while cutting grass?
Why would you want to conceal carry a gun around your own pool on while cutting your own grass?? I could see if you were bush hogging and saw...

Specklebelly Recipe

Shot a mess of Specks this weekend in Arkansas and never cooked them or hunted them for that matter. What are some good recipes? We did some in a brown gravy Saturday night at the camp and it will be hard to beat that. ...

Boiling a Deer Skull

Posted by Old #7 on 1/25/16 at 10:46 am
Gonna european mount my gf's first buck. Any advice on boiling a deer head? I'm assuming I just crank up the crawfish pot and let it go until it's done. How long does it normally take? A guy at work said to wrap the horns in foil so they don't turn white. Any other tips and tricks?? ...

Coastal Zone Season Recap

I hunt in two different areas of the state and was dumbfounded by the lack of ducks in both areas. Normally at least one spot is producing something worth going out there for. Our lease in pointe a la hache is either feast or famen but with high water all year we expected it to be slow. Of cours...

re: Trolling motor spins in reverse only

Yeah from what I have read on diff web sites,it's a switch or something with the wiring for the forward gears. I've heard the same about FTB, but have had decent service with them in the past. One time they had my TM for 4 months waiting on a part that was back ordered. I called all over the stat...

What other trainers do they have around here? I've heard about chuck Mccall and talked to a guy out of Lake Arthur that is Nuthin but labs. Seems to have some decent dogs. Ive contacted Marty already. He's got some great dogs but I'm not looking to drop 4K on a started dog. I trained my last one...
