I have the bodyguard 380 but don't really like the way it shoots.

was looking at the glock 43, but would rather have a safety and hammer on my concealed so I can keep one in the chamber and feel a little better about it.

This brought me to the Sig P938. Anyone have any experience with this gun?

Why do you think you need a hammer?

I can somewhat understand a safety but very few of my guns have a safety.

If you can get by without the hammer, I bought a S&W shield last week and replaced the trigger with an Apex. The trigger wasn't terrible but it wasn't good. I have shot with the new trigger yet but hope to this weekend but just dry firing, the new trigger feels really good.
Bought a holster for it tonight and wearing it right now trying to break it/me into a holster.

Don't really think I need it, I just like the option of being able to de-cock the gun. Just a personal thing that would make me feel better about having a loaded gun in my waistband.

Just curious, is the shield a double action like the bodyguard?

No it's striker fired like a glock but has a safety.

ETA: If you have a gun in your waistband in the holster is should not be uncocked.

The 938 is in the 1911 family. It's single action. That means it has to be cocked to shoot. The proper way to carry it is cocked with the safety engaged.

I am aware of this.

But I would like to be able to de-cock it in certain situations.

i guess what I want to know is if anyone here has any experience with the P938? I like the look and design, but how it shoots is more important to me. I also really like that it comes with tritium sights.

You're going to get shredded by the tactical guys for wanting external safeties.

Sig makes good stuff. I shot a DA/SA .45 (don't remember the model) and it was nice. Very easy to shoot.

There's lots of options out there for exposed hammer guns. They're generally DA/SA which most people dislike. It takes a good bit of shooting to get used to.

I don't have any experience with them. King Ranch has one and if I remember correctly he loves it.

I looked at getting one but bought the shield instead. I will most like buy one someday.

Sig makes a great gun. I have three of them (two P226 and a P320)

Smith and Wesson Shield. If you don't trust the gun that has no hammer and safety, don't carry. If you don't trust it, why would you carry?. A well made gun will not go off unless you pull the trigger. Holster it and you are set. That said, the Sig is nice. But do not carry if you can't trust a gun simply because it has no safety.

There's no reason to not get a gun with a safety if that's what you want.

There isn't if that's what he wants. The fact that he can't trust a gun without one is worrisome though.

I guess I communicated it wrong. I just like the hammer because with it cocked it's going to shoot better than a glock style trigger. If it's de-cocked than its not going to shoot and you can be sure of that.

Alright, I'll just use the glock 18 holstered to my kevlar vest instead.

There's lots of ways you can accidentally pull the trigger. Safeties help prevent that.

If you were sticking a shield back in the holster and something got wedged on the trigger just right than you've just shot yourself in the arse.

Agreed.

Can be the case, but that's why you practice with it.

This argument isn't gonna go anywhere thought. Can any of yall recommend a good inside the waistband holster? Willing to spend some money for something functional and comfortable.

Not if your finger isn't on the trigger until you are ready to fire...

I have the Shield with a safety. Its all in how you train.

I am ordering the Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.
Lots of people on here have the Crossbreed as well.
