For those who want to bring Hunters Safety into this.
From the State Constitution ARTICLE I. DECLARATION OF RIGHTS:
quote:
§11. Right to Keep and Bear Arms
Section 11. The right of each citizen to keep and bear arms is fundamental and shall not be infringed. Any restriction on this right shall be subject to strict scrutiny.
Amended by Acts 2012, No. 874, §1, approved November 6, 2012, eff. December 10, 2012.
quote:
§27. Freedom to Hunt, Fish and Trap
Section27. The freedom to hunt, fish, and trap wildlife, including all aquatic life, traditionally taken by hunters, trappers and anglers, is a valued natural heritage that shall be forever preserved for the people. Hunting, fishing and trapping shall be managed by law and regulation consistent with Article IX, Section I of the Constitution of Louisiana to protect, conserve and replenish the natural resources of the state. The provisions of this Section shall not alter the burden of proof requirements otherwise established by law for any challenge to a law or regulation pertaining to hunting, fishing or trapping the wildlife of the state, including all aquatic life. Nothing contained herein shall be construed to authorize the use of private property to hunt, fish, or trap without the consent of the owner of the property.
Added by Acts 2004, No. 927, §1, approved Nov. 2, 2004, eff. Dec. 7, 2004.

You have the right to bear arms just not concealed in your pants without a permit under our current laws.
Posted on 2/13/16 at 5:58 pm to swanny297
Which is an infringement.

No one is infringing carry however you want to - CCL holders carry into "firearm free" areas all the time, really no difference in this versus carrying without a CCL - both will get you arrested if you are caught.

I believe if you aren't free to do it without breaking the law, that would easily qualify as an infringement.

they get a gun. What they do after that is up to them. Maybe they'll practice every day and be the next Jerry. Maybe they'll stick it in their nightstand un-shot and it'll save their life one day when needed. fact is it's their right to have it and to choose what to do with it.
yep the gun grabber liberal minded folk don't seem to want everyone to have this right unimpeded...
I mentioned this constitutional amendment to a few range officers when working the other day because Ivey gave me heads up on it(I have been in contact with him since the proposal didn't come to fruition last time.)
2 RO's who were instructors immediately cringed and then commented about losing their supplemental income...go figure!
I knew CCW instructors would be one of the hurdles to overcome for this proposal because Ivey told me that along with the Sheriffs Association a number of CCW instructors were in opposition to the bill... again...go figure!
Frick anyone who would sell out our Constitutional rights for a dollar...
Would gladly support a boycott of any such person or businesses
Thank you Bapple for not being one of these sellouts!
If there is ever a need, I will gladly use you for the services you provide and recommend you to anyone I know who is in need of the services you provide

Even if this passed, I wouldn't conceal carry without taking the course and some other shooting courses.

And that's what a responsible gun owner does!

I've learned in life that staying true to your principles is more important than some payoff.
The same can said about dealing with difficult women... stick to your principles!

We're facing a financial disaster and some dumb arse is worried about concealed carry permits. No wonder we're so screwed.

benefits of reciprocity in other states is more important, to me anyways. If you carry everyday for protection why would you leave the state without the same protection.
