What percentage of the population has "culture" in those states? I would venture a guess that it is far less than Louisiana.

What? You legislate rights based upon racial make up of a state? Wow.

Absolutely not, I'm saying you can't compare the those states with Louisiana in regards to crime statistics.

So since criminals commit crimes Louisiana can't have constitutional carry? WTF?

They have pretty good amounts in certain spots in some or most of those states, especially Arizona which has a different flavor of "culture". Yet, just like how these same arguments where made as permissive CCW permitting laws spread across the US in the last 20 years, none of these dire predictions have come true.

No, I don't think it should have any bearing. I am 100% for the right to conceal carry without a permit. I hope Tyrone and Jemale carry everyday when it is legal to do so. However, you asked why Louisiana would be different than the aforementioned states. I gave you the answer that no one else will say because it may offend someone.

I gotcha just playing the other side. If that is their only reason why constitutional carry wont work in Louisiana then they are fighting a losing battle. IMO

Exactly.

For proximity's sake, just look at Alabama.

If everyone can conceal at any time, then at 3 in the morning that thug with the gun under his belt walking up and down your street is just a constitutional scholar.

If you did this while holding a permit, would you be considered a thug?

I called both of my reps and the other phone lines were ringing off the hook in the background when I called. They took my name and number and said they were getting a big push of support from the voters for the amendment.

Based on the above post, I take it your stance is that some people should not be allowed to possess guns because they lack certain qualifications? Fortunately for us, the constitution says nothing about qualifying for your rights.
Clearly I didn't write what you read, or you didn't read what I wrote.

I said nothing about possessing. I referred to concealed carry.

The remainder of your rant is basically straw man arguments. e.g. No one has been shot in my class because I stand over there shoulder the entire time they are holding a gun. I don't get to stand over their shoulder at the mall.

And yes, way too many people can't hit their target at 6 feet. And these are people who show up, having already confirmed to me prior to the class, that they are experienced shooters.

But obviously nothing anyone posts is likely to change your mind. Have a great day.

That's good to hear...

On a side note, I see the lesser minded in this thread are still trying to push their liberal tendencies on us...

Yep, that'd be me - a Hillary liberal.

I'm not surprised that all you could do was resort to an ad hominem attack.

I'm sure there are plenty of things we would agree on. Permitless CCW just isn't one of them.

Again - have a nice day.

So a thin layer polyester covering a firearm changes your outlook entirely on possession without a permit?

Despite what you may have seen as straw man attempts or ad hominem attacks, you still have not given any factual evidence to back up your claims. No one here has. All you said is it gives law enforcement more leeway to put supposed criminals behind bars before they "rape" or "rob." If we lived on the basis of things that might happen, everyone would be dying of heart attacks from extreme paranoia.

No one can definitively show that introducing Constitutional Carry causes the crime rate to go up. If you actually break down stats from other states, none of this is true. None. There is no basis for it at all.

Emotion is the antithesis of empiricism.

Let. People. Be. Free.

How hard is that to understand?

You know, I came into this thread a bit on the fence but leaning towards requiring a permit. Now I think we should allow carrying without a permit. I would still want a permit so I can carry in other states, though.

I agree. And I'll have one regardless for this exact reason.
