Need recommendations on a new pair.....last two pair got me thru only two total seasons (a pair from Cabelas $145 and a pair from Academy...Game Winner $79). Need something more durable that might last a couple of seasons.
The last two pair didn't get punctured but the seams leak. Looking to spend around $150....
thanks

I have just accepted the fact that my waders will always leak. Forever

Whichever way you go, definitely go with neoprene over the old rubber or canvas type. Neoprene is so much more comfortable to wear, easier to put on and you can actually bend down in them.

Do neoprene tend to leak at the seams too? I've not considered them before but might.......I don't hunt in conditions that require the waders to be overally durable.......just waterproof.

big ditch wader by macks prairie wings. they are about $190 but well worth the money.

Plus you can actually patch leaks in them using the silicone patching junk used on scuba wetsuits. I had a pair I used in all conditions from rice fields to briar filled fields on the way to timber hunts. After about 6-7 years, they were probably 15% patch material, but still fully functioning.

Oh man I can't disagree more. I will never own neoprenes again.
I have had these for 4 seasons now. They are great for hunting this far south.

depends on what you want to do. I agree with Vol...
I have a pair of canvas Cabela's waders for duck hunting.
I have a pair of neoprene Cabela's for wade fishing.
Do not wear either for opposite sport either....fishing waders & hunting waders. Preserves them longer.

I have a pair of Rockie neoprene waders that I have been hunting in for almost 10 yrs now. I have never patched them and have hunted in them very hard.
I wouldn't consider anything BUT neoprene just due to the comfort level of them. However I spend upward of $300 or more for them and I'm hunting farther north.

Have had several kinds of waders and will only use neoprene now. Easier to put on (even for a fat guy), comfortable and lets you wear a whole lot less clothing while hunting. Those old canvas ones are tough to put on.
My duck hunting usually consists of standing in waist deep water in beaver ponds. The thin waders will not last in these conditions.

Whatever material you go with, get stocking feet and buy the detached boots.
Also, if you are not in deep water, buy the waist high. Much more comfortable and less restrictive.

Have not had my neoprene waders leak yet, and I hunt them pretty hard.
Even if I had to buy a new pair every 3 years or so, because of the comfort I would still go with neoprene
