Cabelas dissappointment!

Does Cabelas down there suck as well?
We just had one open up here in Richmond Va. I stopped by today and it was like finding out Santa was a sham. I waited for decades to go to one and expected something great.
I have a better selection of firearms than they do ! I was unhappy with Bass Pro but Cabelas was 1 / 10 th of what a Bass Pro is. WTF ?

The cabelas down here is definitely better than bass pro when it comes to firearms IMO.

Here they only had Glocks, 2 sig models, And maybe 2 models of smith,ruger, taurus.
1 colt Ar Tikka rifles all the same model 3-4 browning Shotguns all camo no golds or a-5s
Gun libary used section looked like someone got rid of all the junk they could. They didnt have over 250 guns in n all.

From my experience, they have less of a selection, and everything is more expensive

I agree totally. Never seen anything like it. Every douche bag in town was there today too. Kids screaming and running around soccer moms asking stupid gun questions clogging up the sales people. The power sports section had a whole 2 boats and 1 UTV. Dear Santa please bring bag Steinburgs.

BP and Cabelas sucks for price 99% of the time. I'll buy certain things when shipping is free and they are on sale. Not driving that far to save 5$.

So with all the other things that Cabela's excels at, you rate them poorly because their gun selection is up to your standards?

The Bass Pro in Arkansas is head and shoulders above the Cabelas.

hate to hear that...I have been meaning to visit the cabelas in Dallas for several years...no point if it is not as good as bass pro shops though, as we have BPS here in Mississippi...

I found both local Cabela's and Bass Pro underwhelming, to be honest.

It wasnt just the guns. Each section was dissappointing with the exception of ammo.

You need a first mortgage to buy Scent Lock clothing at Cabelas. It's ridiculous how much they charge for Vietnamese camo.

We got a Cabela's not long ago here in the Tennessee Valley. Previously we've had a Gander Mtn, Academy, and Dicks.
FWIW....If Academy doesn't have what I want I'll still drive to Nashville or Leeds to goto Bass Pro. Cabela's, along with the other two, are disappointments and I don't foresee Cabela's lasting here.

We just got a new Cabelas here in Huntsville a few months ago. The gun selection is definitely better than the archery selection. But, it's a nice store to walk around in and look at stuff, sort of like the "free zoo" (pet store). I think there are better specialized stores locally to do most of my actual buying though.
