Son is going to DC for the Pro Life March and needs a pair of boots. I assumed water proof if the way to go in case of snow/rain but someone mentioned to me that if/when these DO get wet that they'll take longer to dry as opposed to non waterproof.

Anyone have any suggestions?

When you wear water proof boots the idea is not to get wet.

Waterproof boots will be hotter and make your feet sweat more. They are also more heavy. Only reason I have them is for standing in water for extended periods of time.

My regular boots are just straight leather with Obenauf's HD LP. They stay relatively dry when I'm standing in water. I'd imagine they'd be fine in the snow, but I live in South LA, so I have absolutely no fricking idea what's up with that

Actually, I'd just roll with a pair of bean boots and wool socks if necessary. Everyone should have a pair of bean boots
