Uh, Basil Bacon???

Look, I'm not saying they are a bad boat. They are not. It's just that pure performance is not their best attribute.

I echo the Phoenix boat post. Those hulls look to be closer to Champions than anything else. If we had a Phoenix dealer closer by here I'd seriously look into it for my next boat.

Nope not a boat sales man, hell I don't even own a glass rig. I just don't have blinders on when it comes to boat builders and who is doing what these days....

But I agree any time you ride with someone that knows how to drive a rig to its full capabilities it can make you feel that its the best thing floating.

I call BS...SWIDT?

I checked out Phoenix at the Classic Expo, the guy promoting the boat said he used to work for Champion and said Phoenix boats were the closest hull to them...but, he was a salesman and i won't believe it till I ride in one.

I wouldn't say he is a GOOD driver. Or yall were in 5'+ seas that were 20' apart and had no business being out there in a bassboat in the first place

I never really understood rough water until I started fishing offshore. You learn how to read waves wayyyyy out infront of the boat and adjust so you don't hit the ones that are cresting. Apply that to inshore and you can make rough lakes look silly. And like I said earlier, lose focus for one min you're gonna get a wet arse no matter what kind of boat you're in.

the guy at cabelas tried to sell me the stratus telling me it was just like the ranger since they are made by the same company now... I knew he was full of shite so I just played along to see what he'd say.. It was quite comical... I had to stop him and point out the showroom ranger and tell him I had one just like it already in the boat shed so he'd leave me alone. I know :csb:. Moral of the story, a salesman will tell you whatever to try to convince u to buy a POS

eta: nice name btw. You must have been REALLY drunk when u made it

Yea, I wouldn't go for the Evinrude. I was cursed with a Johnson on my last boat. Yamahammer for the Bonefish...one day.

There was no way they should have let us out there. The only thing worse I've ever experienced was crossing Rayburn in Craig Shuff's Javelin on day 2 after day 1 was canceled. Had I not been holding onto his 70 lb tackle box, I'd have been thrown out of the boat. Dude does not come off the hotfoot for anything. While a Javelin doesn't take waves all that well, I can say it lands flat

I remember one a while back I think. I don't see anything wrong with a new one. I'm bored at work

He barked at me for stumbling on a hookset(I was hung over) than questioned me at length about how anyone could possibly drink alcohol the night before a tournament......

Back to the boat debate... We've talked ab heavy, rough water rigs... What about the need for speed??? Allison center console? (I want one )
