Please don't compare a Nitro to a Ranger. You will lose your credibility on a fishing forum. I like the Champion comment Mine is 7 years old still running like...a CHAMP!

Nope won't lose any credibility , 5-6 years ago I would not have said that about a nitro. But nitro is making a very nice rig these days if you want to believe it or not that up to you. And if you think that z-9 is not as good as a ranger in rough water you fooling yourself. I do believe ranger makes a good boat, but I think they are living off there name they are not the ranger of old. And I don't believe a ranger is worth 10k more than nitro. And if you want to talk bass boat builders that are currently in business and making great rough water rigs that also have great top end its Legend Boats. I would follow that up with BassCat. Edit: I will say ranger does have nicer bells and whistles and the fit and finish is a little better than nitro. But not enough to justify the price difference. Nitros biggest issue is getting past there poor boat making I'm the 90's..most people don't want to look past it.

Alx, you do realize you could be in a 40' boat and is the spray and wind is just right you're gonna get a wet arse?
I'm talking apples to apples. Same lake, same winds, different boats(3). Champion, Bass Cat, Danger...I mean, Ranger. I can add that my POS Skeeter has still never speared a wave. Basil Bacon and I speared at least 5 on one run on TB.

Champ made a great rough water rig...best there was. Shame to see them go belly up and be put under the stratos name.

I was sad to see this happen, I went look at the new Stratos Champ elites at Cabelas when they came out and I wouldn't be able to pull the trigger on one...they make 3 of the Champion hulls still

Even though we're comparing these boats, most of them are still made by the parent company Genmar

Exactly that's my whole point about ranger...they are not the ranger of old and they don't make the same boat. I think even genmar has been sold out..if I am not mistaken. And like I said if I was going to spend top tier money on a bass rig tomorrow...Lengend would be on the top of the list followed by basscat

I like that list..you would never catch me paying for the name Ranger, If I wasn't worried about having a rough water boat, i would also consider Phoenix

I like that noone has brought up Triton yet, that makes me

I HATE tritons!!!!! Funny yall are mentioning BassCat, while I love them (and always have), I have a few buddies who fish professionally who are ready to trade their basscat in for a ranger
have yet to ride in rough conditions in a legend. And I was always a fan of a Champion. (we have their bay boat) speaking of... I was quite impressed the other day crossing the bay in our ranger... It rode
about like our baychamp does in those seas

oh and I'm guessing someone in here sells Nitros

as I've said before on here, your experience in rough water is all relative to the guy driving the boat. Anyone that has spent A LOT of time on the water can attest to that

eta: autocorrect

glad I stirred up a little discussion
