Tomorrow morning at 9:00am the race starts. Links to track the racers can be found below. For those of you that live along the waterways, I thought you may want to track the progress of the participants. I'm headed to California tonightso I'm not participating in this one.
The first 275 miles to Port Barre are non stop and then the racers join in with the Tour du Teche racers in a stage race format to Berwick, La

LINK to track all racers for first 275 miles. This page may not be maintaijed after they reach Port Barre so I'm including a few individual tracking pages below.

General info
THURSDAY, 24 SEPTEMBER 2015
The inaugural Tour de la Riviere Rouge and the 410 de Louisiane, ultra-marathon races for canoes and kayaks, will literally start with a bang this Saturday, September 26.
An elite group of long-distance paddlers will start from under the Shreveport-Barksdale Bridge at Shrevepor-Bossier City at 9am. And about the same time, down in Alexandria, they're going to be blowing up the 79 year-old O.K. Allen Bridge, shutting down that section of the Red River from 24 to 36 hours. The bridge was originally supposed to be destroyed on September 19, but the contractor had a problem assembling the materials, so it was postponed until this Saturday.
No problem.
The racers will motor-portage around the demolition site, taking out at the Fort Buhlow Recreation Site on the left bank and putting back in at Amphitheater Park in downtown Alexandria on the right bank.
The portage is about six miles, similar to the required portage from Krotz Springs, on the Atchafalaya River, to Bayou Courtableau and the final stretch to Port Barre.

Do the solo guys go without sleep for the entire race or can they tag team out at checkpoints?

No tag team wether solo or group. Only those that start can participate. It's all about managing caloric intake versus energy expended given the outook of the conditions. Sleep when you have to or when nature (lightning) makes you.
Edit: it's all about the conditions. A sun burn, a blister on your hand or simply getting river water on your hydration system mouth piece can take you out of the race.

First male solo paddler arrived in Port Barre about 20 minutes ago. Started Saturday morning at 9am and just finished 275 miles. If you want to see his track, look in OP for "David tracker"
Now they join in with Tour du teche participants.
A picture of bayou Teche this morning near franklin. The entire bayou if filled with floating vegitation. Hopefully it clears out by Sunday when racers get there. That stuff is horrible to paddle through/over. I got stuck in some at 3am the first year of the teche race. Took an hour to go 30 yards and thought I was going to snap my paddle. Looks very snakey too while you're trapped in it.
