What's the farthest you've boated across Louisiana, only taking bayous, intracoastal, etc out of a small boat?

I'm debating on making a trip to Cocodrie from just south of Lafayette in the near future. I'll be able to camp out on the party barge. I've got my route planned out and it's all inshore public water bodies. It's about 100 miles one way. Any ideas or input?

Sounds like fun but the trip back would be the killer. Especially if you're tired or had a bad trip and you have no choice but to make that 100 mile trip back.

That sounds like an awesome trip. I have a cuz who launched in the north side of lake des allmends and went to grand isle , at ate bridgeside, and headed back all in one day. This was done on a party barge as well.

I would like to booze cruze bayou lafourche from thibodaux to GI one day.

The longest waterway trip I've ever done was kayaked the Mississippi River. Started around St. Louis and ended in BR.

Sounds like fun, I was just looking around that area, trying to see how to get from Laffayette to Cocodrie. I was thinking Bayou Teche, but it looks like you can only get so far.
Nevermind, I see the way out, in Baldwin. That would be a nice inland cruise.

Not really that far. Especially with the some of the party barges they have now.

My only advice would be to bring some sort of mosquito netting or a tent if you plan to camp out. I would want more than just a sleeping bag.

I've been wanting to do a kayak trip from Shreveport to Alexandria for awhile now. Plans were destroyed this year with all the flooding.

Camp on the sandbars and tow a 3rd canoe with aupplies.

One of my friends built a house boat and floated it down from Monroe to Baton Rouge. He then lived on that boat during grad school.

You would have to put into the Teche south of the Keystone Locks which is 2 or 3 miles south of St. Martinville. Otherwise you have to give them 24 hours notice.

It is possible to take the Vermillion all the way down to the Intracoastal Waterway then head East to Cocodrie. I have a buddy who does this all the time for the start of duck hunting season except he goes to Pecan Island

I have done Shreveport to Alex on a 90 foot river boat. I got off in Alex and my dad went all the way to New Orleans.

E/W - Woodson's to behind the island at Larto.

N/S - Alexandria to Grand Ecore.

Extra tanks strapped to deck of boat.

My dad and some friends brought their boats from Shreveport to Ellic, spent the night at Hotel Bentley, then cruised back the following day.

I was a student worker at LSU, we Launched at sandollar. Started taking water samples 3 miles out of the pass, took a sample and water clarity every mile until we got picked up on the north side of lake des allemands. I think it was almost 90 miles.

It was like 35 degrees that day. Thank god I was the driver and didn't have to mess with the water.
