They don't get it because they're little boys that want to buy big boy toys.

I want to pay a fair price without overpaying while getting exactly what I want. Doesn't seem unreasonable to me. Am I cheap? No. Am I frugal? Yes.

Lots of places out of state will sell you a boat on the weekend at a way better price than you will pay in LA

LA dealers pissing you off?

1.look around real quick after work

2.use La dealers inventory to look at/find the boat you want.

3. go buy in the south Florida area for several thousand less than La dealers lowest price.

How do you like that thing boss?

I'm on week 5 of waiting for my dual console camo, with SHO to come in from Cabelas. Negotiated over email, did the paper work in 15-20 minutes on a Saturday.

I guess I thought they were in business to make money.

I guarantee they know when to stay open. If they can make money staying open during the weekend, they would. There is a reason they are open when they are.

Yup.

Technology has simplified shopping and also made it more efficient.

Buyers that choose not to take advantage of phones and computers are often frustrated.

Evidently some biz owners make most of their money during the week, catering to those who have time to ride around, or use technology.

Shiftworker, if you made enough $ during the week to pay cash for all your toys, and your boss asked you if you wanted to work weekends or fish, which would you choose?

Most of the dealers in my area close early on Wednesday or Thursday at 12pm and shift those missing hours to Saturday morning (8am-12pm). You just have to plan ahead and get there early Sat morning.

^^^
It's based 100% on the laws of supply & demand.

Just because Waffle House decides to stay open 24 hours/day doesn't mean it makes financial sense for Ruth's Chris to do business that way.

Boat dealers, and every other successful business, establish their operating policies based on profitability. If every boat dealer pegged their schedules to accommodate every single potential buyer, their costs would be so high you wouldn't be able to afford their boats.
