I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a BGE. Is there a time of the year that is best to purchase one? It seems like the prices are fixed, but does anyone recommend one store over another in the BR, NOLA or north shore area? Maybe one that throws in a lot of free stuff to make it a better deal?

I looked hard at a BGE and finally decided on a Kamado Joe. Their accessories are better, IMO. I think all the ceramics are pretty solid though. You will enjoy it. The prices on all of them seem to be pretty fixed. I don't see them on sale anywhere.

Got some stuff thrown in at Shoppers Choice in BR w Kamado Joe. They have a lot to look at.

I bought the Vision Grills version they sell at Sams. It's awesome. You can save some money over a BGE by buying a competitor.

Just bought one a couple of weeks ago from Casual Creations per Ruzil's recommendation. The owner was a nice guy and their rices are about $100 off everywhere else in BR.

Love my kamado Joe. The last grill you will buy. Pizzas on these are incredible.

north shore area
Mandeville Party Company on N. Causeway has a Primo sitting out front, never been inside.
Outdoor Living Center off of 190 closer to Covington is a BGE dealer but I don't think they'll deal with you. Might give you a free bag of lump.

I have been known to be involved in group buys on ceramics other than BGE in the past. We normally do this late summer / fall...

Yes, at an Eggfest. BGE organizes eggfests around the country. BGE sends out a bunch off eggs that are used during the cookoff then sold as once used with full warranties. I bought mine last year a large for $200 off. The person using mine for the cookoff used it to bake a brownie so it was super clean almost no coal marks.

I'd wait. Yeti is releasing their version this spring. It's supposed to stay hot for 6 days.

have to leave it in the blazing sun to preheat it first to get that maxed longevity.

What brand and what do the savings look like? I'm not in a real hurry to buy one now, so if the price is right I can wait.
