I posted on the rant but didn't get a ton of response. We are redoing the kitchen and I'm looking to put in some granite. Very easy runs, 1-12 foot straight run with a sink at the 6ft mark, and 2-24" runs beside the stove. I was ideally looking at going prefab and just doing it myself. Where would be the best place to look? I'm ok with "builder" colors preferably a white Galaxy/white rose color.

My husband bought some for our rental house from Jack's Kitchen and Bath on Government St. He felt like he got a good price, but I don't remember exactly what that was. I know he got a discount for paying cash. LINK

Call Jenkins tile and ask to speak with Kevin at the granite shop. He's a friend of mine.

I have EE coming today to give a quote. We found one we liked there for 28 a sqft plus 150 for the sink cut out.

We just remodeled our kitchen with granite.

Shopped around, got about 5 quotes, one of the quotes was from a place in MS (not the lowest bid either). Went to Home Depot and found what we wanted for way cheaper than all of my quotes.

Ended up going with Home Depot and when the granite people showed up, they ended up being the MS company I had called previously for a quote. Saved over $1000 this way. The install went very well. Couldn't be happier.

Might be worth a shot for you as well.

Try the Habitat store. My sister found a beautiful piece for dirt cheap, just had to be cut down. There is also a place in NO East that sells granite dirt cheap. Just need an installer.

Yea I saw the place in down near Nola. My wife didn't like thier colors. She really likes the one from EE. I also called jacks and it sounds like ee is cheaper for Same granite. I already have a sink on the way the apron style, but if I can work a deal I'll send it back. Just don't want to pay an arm and a leg for less than 32 sqft

EE came out and quoted 1200 for about 35 ft of 2cm with laminated erased edge white Galaxy granite. Will I find a Cheaper price? I'll likely go with them.

Are granite and quartz similarly priced? Looked at a bunch of houses this weekend in the Parade of Homes and saw more Quartz than granite. Saw some leathered Quartz that was pretty sweet.

For years I have been under the impression that quartz was cheaper than granite.

I saw something the other day with the two side by side including prices, and the quartz was more expensive

Quartz is the "in thing" now. Less up keep too!
