Prison was good to me this year and I finally broke down and got that F250 diesel I've been wanting. It's time for the first oil change which I've always done myself. Always used only Mobil 1 synthetic in my gas burners. What's the OB's favorite for the diesel? I know Rotella T is popular. Is it worth it for the more expensive one or is synthetic worth it? Damn thing takes 13 quarts it says. Thanks in advance.

I used Rotella T6 pre and post delete. Never any issues. Never sent a sample off either. Ran her hard and put up wet, no issues.

Whatever the dealer puts in it...

You only need to change it like very 10K.
Synthetic not worth the additional cost, IMO, unless you tow a lot.

NOT true at all for 6.4s. I am half way through a bottle of Buffalo, but no.

6.4s contaminate their oil with diesel like nobodys business. Deleting it makes it better, but not 10k better.

You serious?

I used to tell my mom that I added a supercharger to my 5.7 for safety. Not sure she believed me, but didnt say otherwise either.

Brand new 2014 model. Literally the first oil change. It has this intelligent oil life monitor. I got 8500 miles before it said I need to change it.

I change mine in my '12 every 5000 miles and do it myself. Doing it myself cost around $80, paying to get it done is around $150.

Agreed.

I thought we were talking about 6.7 given the 13 quarts comment.

Buffalo is good stuff.

Good catch. Missed that completely.

Got rid of my 6.7 two weeks ago, minimal tears so far.

I loved my 6.7. Got rid of all our heavy trailers and nixed the idea of a 5th wheel, so it just made sense. $100 oil changes, $50 fuel filters, exponentially more expensive fuel, etc.

I didn't even think about that. I would have given them to you too. Clarion tweeters, Alpine front speakers, RF rear speakers. Maybe $200, but a world of difference.

Stock Sony. Had to find odd ohm speakers for highs. 2 ohm, I think.
