re: Best 7mm 08 whitetail round for Tikka T3? - prisontiger
My daughter has had great results with Hornady Superformance SSTs in 139 gr. Usually drops them in their tracks...

re: Good price on a used Browning Lever Action 7mm08? - prisontiger
My daughter shoots 7-08 in Hornady Superformance 139 grain SST and it is absolutely bad business on a whitetail! No concerns at all for deer hunting....

re: Finally pulled the trigger on a T3 - prisontiger
I'm kinda concerned about recoil. I'm a really big dude though. How's it compared to a 30-06?...

re: Finally pulled the trigger on a T3 - prisontiger
Let me know how you like that combo. I'm looking hard at the Meopro. But I've always liked Nikons so I'm thinking that too. I have zero experience with Meopta, how much better than a good Nikon can it be?...

Finally pulled the trigger on a T3 - prisontiger
Been wanting to get a Tikka for several years and with the new T3x out you can find some great deals on the original T3 right now. Got the synthetic stock blued barrel T3 in 300 WSM from Buds for $467 today! That's pretty damn cheap. Thinking a Meopro to top it off. Merry Christmas to me. LoL...

re: Leaving today for Wisconsin - prisontiger
Left Alexandria yesterday at 7 pm and we're still driving!! Damn. Getting excited though, we've seen a bunch of deer. And my buddies up here say the rut is kicking off now. They were seeing some chasing yesterday....

re: Leaving today for Wisconsin - prisontiger
Just the abundance of food is mind boggling. We lease a 456 acre farm that has probably 80 or 90 acres of rough ground and an 80 acre CRP field adjacent. They're cutting beans on it right now. Excited but not looking forward to that 1,000 mile drive tonight....

re: Leaving today for Wisconsin - prisontiger
We're going crossbow hunting. If it weren't for them being legal I wouldn't have gotten him to go. Got a monster named Limo we're trying to get for the third year. His arse turns into a damn ghost this time of year. But we have plenty of deer. Kinda ruins you to deer hunting down here. LoL...

Leaving today for Wisconsin - prisontiger
Heading out today for 11 days of hunting in Wisconsin. Super stoked that my brother who doesn't hunt much at all is going. Should really be a great time for all of us. We've got 5 or 6 nice shooters and a billion does on camera so far. Time to fill the freezer!...

re: Crossbows...why so much hate? - prisontiger
Agreed. How could it not be when the top tier of compound bows exceeds the performance of the lower tier of crossbows? Now the crossbow is easier to shoot increasing the shooters performance maybe, but again that's the shooter and there are a million other factors affecting that....

re: Crossbows...why so much hate? - prisontiger
Dead on. Last year was my first time and I got a big doe and a nice 8. Was absolutely more fun than rifle hunting. It may actually just be the gateway for me to compound bow hunting. I'll see how it goes this year. I just think as hunters we should be more concerned with people who would infringe...

re: Crossbows...why so much hate? - prisontiger
Not really responding to you per se, I had posted in another thread about this. This whole debate is interesting to me. I'm from here but hunt in Wisconsin and they've had legal crossbows longer and there is no stigma there. Now you mention bait piles and they freak out. I think it really boils down...

re: Sig P220 elite chambered in 10mm. Let's discuss this gun - prisontiger
I've been looking at this very gun. Just want something a little more than my 9 and like that this is different than a 45. That nickel is beautiful. Wish someone who owns one had some long term feedback....

re: Can you save the bladder from a doe you've killed? - prisontiger
Thanks. I work in a pharmacy and we decided that's exactly what we're going to try. It seems to me we're either wasting money on junk that doesn't work or throwing good money away with the deer we kill. I'll let you know how it works....

re: Can you save the bladder from a doe you've killed? - prisontiger
Not so much that I'm hard up for $20 but I guess I'm getting older and just wonder if that's a waste of money and if not then I feel like I'm throwing money away then with a fresh doe kill. I always try to remove the bladder neatly without getting piss all over the meat anyway, I think I could drop ...

Can you save the bladder from a doe you've killed? - prisontiger
After spending $20 today for 2 ounces of estrous doe urine, it got me thinking. A) Does anyone think this stuff works for hunting during the peak of the rut and B) if so then could you collect the bladder out of a freshly killed doe during the rut and use that urine? Or should I save my money for ni...

re: For the first time in my life, I'm tempted by a crossbow - prisontiger
Look at the Wicked Ridge Invader. For the money that is an incredible value. I started with a used one of those last year. Sold it to my brother this year and got a Ghost 410. But, the Invader is probably more accurate. I may be the exception, but I actually shoot a good bit because, well it's f...

re: For the first time in my life, I'm tempted by a crossbow - prisontiger
It's funny how this thread comes up every year. And it's funny how people's perception is different in different areas. Me and a coworker lease a 456 acre farm in Wisconsin. They've had legal crossbows longer than we have. All my buddies up there now hunt and are Mathews purists, but no one ever s...

re: SW M&P Sport II Questions - prisontiger
Simmons in Bastrop has both the M&P S2 and the Ruger AR556 for $599 and even 24 months zero interest if that appeals to you. Headed up there Saturday to get my first AR. I'm leaning towards the Ruger....
