Very broad question. Rifle, shotgun, or handgun?
As far as accessories go, you can never go wrong with buying upgraded optics.

Service grade M1 Garand from the CMP for $730 is a fantastic deal and a great investment IMO, but I'm also sucker for milsurps.

Build a nice Ar and then save for a decent optic.

Do you have a nice revolver? Do you have a 1911? Those are the two things I would look at.

Ruger GP100 - $632

Ruger SR1911 - $726

Springfield Armory Ranger Officer Operator 1911 - $853

I definitely agree with building a nice AR yourself and then later saving for solid optics.

What do you already have?

at this point, for me...1911 or AR. I have neither.

Not OB worthy.

I'm getting old. They use to sell them for $400 back in the 90s. The supply must be really dwindling so if some one likes milsurp rifles better jump on it while you can.
