Bermuda is still dormant. I have a lot of broadleaf weeds and annual bluegrass coming up (poa). What's the best combination herbicide for my yard right now?

Also, should I be using a spray only on the affected areas or over the entire yard or a broadcaster? I have both a sprayer and a walk-behind broadcaster....so I can do either.

This home ownership stuff with a yard is tough.

Pretty sure the 24-D I'm using has instructions for Bermuda. Not sure if it's the best but it is helping a lot on my yard which is overrun with dollar weed etc.

As long as the bermuda is still dormant, you can spray a low rate of roundup with 2,4-d and take out what you described.

Don't put round up on it now. Spray with 2-4d now, poa will die when temps stay in 80's

That Poa is some resilient crap. And when it dies...the bermuda couldn't fill in that area so you get this area that looks like a dog pissed in your yard and killed the area....Luckily most of this is in the back yard..not the front...the front I've worked hard to keep the weeds out.

I thought about burning the back a section at a time....but I haven't heard anything about when it's best to burn a dormant bermuda yard. Up here in N. Alabama we are still a ways away from the Bermuda coming back green.

What can you do for this? Assuming change their food?

I'm about to scrape an area that died from my dog pissing and re-sod it.

I strayed mine twice with round up and killed the Poa. It took took sprays because that crap sucks. The 1st time the temp was around 65 and the 2nd it was in the 70s.

Mine is a nice of Bermuda and zoysia and it's starting to green up now. No issue where I sprayed.

You better look real close at the Bermuda and make sure there are not any little green shoots coming out or the roundup will kill the roots on it. My Bermuda grass ( north of Huntsville) already has some green in it when you look close. I sprayed mine with Paraquat the other day. If it gets on a few leaves of the Bermuda it will only burn those spots. Be careful around paraquat though it is really poisonous. I put down Prowl H2O to kill stuff that has not yet germinated.

24D. You may have to hit it a second lick if temps are under 50.

2-4D, 2.5oz per gallon should work fine for you. Just don't spray on windy days...
