I always see people riding on the beach. Is it legal or what? I'd prefer that to tote traps than walking.

It's illegal to have a gas powered vehicle. They really need to start cracking down on this b/c it's getting out of hand especially at night. They should just start confiscating the bikes. Once word gets out that shite will stop.

Is that coming from the police department? I couldn't find anything in writing. I'm not looking to go hotrodding down the beach.

back when you could drive on the beach at the state park, people would drive beyond the park boundaries to get to a less crowded part of the beach. The local cops would wait until about 11 a.m., after everyone was set up for the day, and wait for them to try to drive back into the state park and give them tickets. I have not seen anything in writing either, but I witnessed the tickets being given first hand. The beach has only gotten smaller since then, so I can't imagine it's any more legal now.

I was lumping sxs in that comment. Memorial weekend there were a ton of side by sides gas powered. Now I'm normally in my boat fishing so I don't know if they just let it use for the holiday

give them an inch and they take a mile.
Its great that electric carts are now allowed on the beach to help bring your stuff, but as said now people with 45+mph gas side by sides and even 4 wheelers are on the beach just riding up and down with very young kids driving. Its even worse on the roads. They can't wait behind the slower carts and passed them up and continue to ride on the road. Won't be long before they run over someone walking back and forth to the beach.

I don't think if they can slip through that loop hole that they can make anyone else pay a ticket. As long as your courteous and drive reasonable I don't see any problem with hauling your fishing tackle.

BTW I never got over 5mph and didn't have any problems.Everyone was friendly

Cool may have to tow her down and get a camp for his birthday.

I really need to look into buying a camp somewhere for him to hide out at.

Anybody know how much the ticket is? If not too much I'll assume the risk.

I was told by someone $500 but that was hear say. I call GI tourism and was told I could ride it and if I got stopped to tell them to call them. Whether or not that would hold water is unknown.

There is signs at the cross overs stating no motorized vehicles but half the golf carts there are motorized. I didn't see me driving slowly down the beach without a beverage nearly as bad as people in golf carts wasted driving up and down the road

We were told last summer by the police department that they were allowing gas powered side by sides on the beach only to allow people to carry their gear to and from the beaches but not for pleasure riding.
