Anyone here use one for their plots?
Would it hold up for 3-4 acres of tilling?
Never used one before but came across some videos on youtube and it looks like it eats the ground up really good

A handheld would damn near kill you doing that.

That's a lot of ground. I'd get a disk

We've do about 8 acres of plots every year with one. It's slow but you only have to make one pass. It's nice when you have grass that a lighter disk won't bust through. Can get a real nice seed bed with one

our disc is not very heavy. was thinking that a tiller may be easier but wasn't sure how well they would hold up doing a few acres every year and maybe some light yard work

I've only done about a fifth of an acre with one I rented, but it sure does a nice job.

6' pto tiller is the bomb. Have used mine for years and one pass at bush hog speed gives me plots I could lay sod on. Tiller is width of tractor tires which makes clean passes. Turns grass under and makes great seed bed. First time on very compacted soui is a little slower but next round much easier. I do spray all my plots 3-4 weeks prior to tilling which makes even faster cleaner first pass.

Depends on how thick the grass is and how hard the ground is. Can be done in a day easily.

We use both a big disk on large plots (for time) and a tiller on smaller plots. The tiller seedbed, as as been stated, is amazing.

I've always thought you were a pretty honest fella on this board. Thanks for the input.

But you are either a liar or the baddest frickin dude on the planet if you are tilling 8 acres in a day with a walk behind rotary tiller.

6' tiller behind tractor is how we do it....6 acres of plots....been doing it that way since 91....we kill the plots first week of October, make 1 deep pass...notch it up to just turn very top....drop seed and fertilizer, make second pass to lightly cover seed...eliminates using the drag and slinging seed to edges....Arnold Palmer could putt on the plots....6 acres completely planted in one day...we start at daylight and are finished with everything cleaned and put away, enjoying beer and BBQ watching the sunset....hoping for rain! We have disc and tiller....prefer the tiller....when our tiller was broken, the discs did fine, but not the powder sugar seed bed you get with the tiller....love the tiller attachment

Whoa not even close. Thought we established early on that it was a PTO tiller on a tractor

We have a 6 ft tiller behind our tractor, two passes and plant. Do an acre in under an hour.
