Yesterday we only caught two keepers. One was 14 inches, the other was 5 pounds.

Today my dad and I killed them! Not saying where, but we were flipping. Caught a little over 17 pounds with our best five and caught 16 keepers.

Several people I know of killed them today. Much better fishing weather with lower barometric pressure today. They weren't feeding in the bushes well yesterday but we're today.

Idk, the reason we fished the bushes is because my dad's buddy caught a little over 20 pounds in the bass champs tourney flippin bushes Saturday.

I don't doubt it. We had 23 to 25 lbs last Saturday flipping bushes. Only caught a few out of them yesterday

Yeah ill probably get after em end of next week and weekend too.

We were on some fish yesterday but the wind was killing us on a flat. We left and when the wind quit, we should have went back and tried em again but it was a long run and idle.

I stuck 4 on a fairy wand with a shaky head and couldn't do anything with em broke off on a good fish too. We had one 4lber another 3 and 2. We were catching 5s and 6s week before and releasing em.

Yea I usually wacky em good but only 10pb test and growing it in a lilly pad stem flat. Wrapped up in stems and can't get em out was the issue

We finished with a check. Top 41 outta 310 boats. South end Lowes creek, Six Mile mouth, Texas Islands and couple points across from the dam. Found grass early in the week and all the grass held good fish all weekend. 8lb Kicker helped out. We fished 4 hrs within 100 yds of Mike and Ashley. We both moved around the same group of fish that whole time. They just stuck the pigs and we picked up there scraps.

That's awesome to hear. Congrats on the check, I wanted one!

I'm more familiar with mid lake than south but plan on learning soon.

We're they relatively deep or shallow?

12ft to 18ft was our target Wednesday and Thursday. Held fairly true Saturday but after lunch they began that 13 to 10ft move when the sun would poke out.

What's the smallest boat you would want to fish Toledo? 16'? 18'?

Great question. Love Toledo. But huge waves come up mid-lake almost without notice.

Fished TB 1968 - 1988. Worst I encountered was about 1980. Waves peak to peak about 30 feet. Waves trough to peak at least 10 feet. South of Pendelton about 15 miles. Lake about 15 miles wide at that point. I had to travel about 10 miles in my boat to make it back to my landing.

Wind and waves came up suddenly. Surprise, surprise.

Boat was 1978 Challenger 15' with 150 HP Mercury. Made it back to landing by riding atop each wave at speed necessary to ride the wave. Took about 30 minutes in my mind (probably more) to complete "journey". My Dad at the landing was totally worried out of his mind.

Nothing else, Mother Nature wise, was even close to that unfolding event. Never experienced anything like that before or after.

So, a 15 foot boat under sufficient power can navigate my favorite lake under practically all circumstances. Of course a 32 foot saltwater tuna boat could deal with virtually all circumstances. But that's not what we're talking about.

A famous saying starts with - "It's not the size of the dog in the fight...".

JMHO. Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps.
