I live right by LSU's campus and want to go shoot some skeet. Anywhere around here that isn't ridiculously far that I can go shoot some skeet?

Must be a member. $250 for membership for 1st year and maybe $200 after that.

Since when? You never had to be a member to shoot skeet.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to be a member to shoot skeet. The rifle and pistol range require a membership but anyone can shoot skeet there.

They're closed on Mondays anyway

Shereburne is about 30 minutes away. You would need to getting your own targets

This is correct.
Members can also bring guests to shoot at the rifle/pistol range, but must stay with their guest (can wander off to shoot clays).

Theres a place on I-12 between BR and Hammond that I heard is very nice but I think the ole boy that owns it only opens it sporadically. Seems like I remember someone saying that its basically his retirement place and not so much a business. I like Wilderness in Lafayette personally.

Define "open."

"Open to the public" -- as in you somehow have the right, even though you are not an owner of the property (and despite the provisions of Louisiana's criminal trespass statutes), to enter the property and start shooting firearms.
