I'll be headed down to the island this weekend. Where y'all catching fish? I'll be out in the boat and catching some crabs at the beach. Have a great Memorial Day weekend fellas.

If I've learned anything about that place it's everyday is different.. Last week everywhere we went we caught specs and a few reds, this weekend the wind may play a factor Friday and Saturday,,Sunday looks ok. Last week I caught just as many on top water as everyone else on live shrimp.. Some of the biggest specs I've ever caught were last weekend most were solid 2 to 3 lbs and a couple 4s and one 5 . This weekend who knows may be totally different?

With a SE wind blowing at 14 mph right now the beach will be shite. I'd run out to 4 bayou or drag the boat over to Fourchon.

I assume the best conditions for the beach are light N wind? But SE wind is pretty common in the summer. What are the conditions that make the beach good vs bad? I would think a strong SE wind would blow a lot of bait up into the surf and it would be on. Basics. Thanks for any info.

Nope anything over 8-10 out of the S muddies it up . Best is obviously light N wind but a light SE is good to. . Need to behind the Island this weekend . Good luck
