Any deer activity updates in the spillman area / West Feliciana?

We are about 10 miles south of Spillman. Like you seeing some bucks together. So far having a better than average year. Last week fella killed a 5 point went 186 lbs. Several healthy does have been taken. I passed on two does, shoulda taken the first on. Try again this week.

I hunt in Jackson, LA. Ruts over. Time to duck hunt.

Driving to Clinton today and saw a REAL good buck chasing a doe about 4:30 in a wide open field. We were about 6 miles south on plank road. Hope this helps.

There are several gene pools in the deer herds in that area. We have some bucks that wont rut until late Jan. I've seen others with dark hocks in late Nov. Just gotta get out there.

No chasing here in Sw East Feliciana yet. Usually see chasing come Xmas

We hunt St. Francisville , not seeing much yet. Rut always seems to be first 2 weeks of January.

Anyone hunting Laurel Hill area of West Fel with a stud 11 pt on camera is gonna be sad. Ended up as toad kill tonight. Was close enough to my place he could have wondered by me during the rut. I hate the amount of deer this highway claims each year
