Once again, a simple brush off with a broom would have done the job. Or simply walking towards a snake generally runs them off.

I've found rat poison does a great job of keeping them at bay.

It was holed up in our warehouse at work. can't have snakes in my office building.

Same snake everyone kills climbing a tree, carport post, in a tree stand, on their front door wreath, climbing on top of an outside refrigerator, etc.

You are lucky you survived.

freshly shed texas rat snake is beautiful, as is a copperhead, and a speckled king. what do you consider pretty?

i'm guessing you have no idea what a copperhead looks like. Nothing like a rat snake.
