For the tl;dr folks:

Dude interjects himself into argument over seating in church -- flashes CCW badge - gets punched in the face -- shoots and kills the "puncher."

why is this a black eye for CCW? and what other "black eyes" are you talking about? This is an isolated incident, nothing more. thousands died in auto accidents yesterday. Is that a black eye on the automobiles? Driving? the Highways?

yes serious. I get that a CCW holder committed a murder. i agree thats bad. But I don't correlate his action with the fact that he has a permit. I'm not gonna assume every CCW holder is a potential killer. Are you?

Hah! Checkmate, Dawg. If he didn't need a CCW card, he would have never flashed it and he would have never gotten punched and then shot the dude who punched him. Definitive proof that CCW cards are more dangerous than Constitutional carry.

i know. Location of the murder is kinda irrelevant, don't you think? He still committed a murder. I still don't understand why the action of this one individual should be projected on all CCW holders.

If that is in fact what the OP is insinuating.

I don't think we are going to be able to communicate on this. You don't see how the perception of otherwise opinionated folks could be colored by this type of thing?

No, I wouldn't just like you wouldn't. But Id be willing to bet that we aren't ignorant liberals that shite all over the 2nd amendment either though. If you don't see this as a black eye and ammo to be used from the other side, then I don't know what to tell you.

The location does matter when it's a church. Most churches ask that people not open carry, so it's logical to assume this doesn't happen unless he's concealed carrying, which is the usual debate when a CCW shooting happens. Also, "should" and "will be" are two different things. I fully support concealed carry, and in no way do I think it makes everyone a potential murderer, but if you don't think this is a black eye then I'm not sure what to tell you.

The guy bought a fake badge that says CCW on the internet for Christ's sake. He's the poster child for when CCW goes wrong.

Maybe he feared the guy was going to beat him to death. He punched him, that's step 1 in beating someone to death if I remember correctly.

You mean like ABC news assuming Gabriel Gifford's shooter was a tea party member? yeah, I get it. But it doesn't bother me because I know that libtards are gonna libtard and theres nothing i can do about it. Luckily, most people know that not all CCW holders are gonna shoot someone in church. So if some gun control nut wants to use this as a rallying point, so be it. They won't be taken seriously by the majority of people.

It's got nothing to do with libtards. It's simply an illustration, in multiple ways, of the possible misuse of the right/privilege/whatever.

Again I disagree with your premise. Every person I know that carries and has a permit (to date) hasn't hurt anyone nor have they bought a fake badge to flash around. Your reaction to this is giving credibility to something that should be dismissed out of hand. The premise that this is the poster child for when CCW goes wrong is itself wrong. This is an a-hole being an a-hole. the rest is coincidence.
Quit acting like this is what happens when CCW goes wrong. I'd say when CCW goes wrong the carrier shoots himself or has his weapon taken away and is shot with it.

This guy is just another wack job.

No, No I'm not. But I am not an anti-gun, anti- 2nd, person who does indeed think all of us with CCWL are. Nor am I a member of the media who will paint us all with a broad brush. This douche does give all of us a black eye just like every extremist gives all Muslims a black eye.
