since my question in the other "score this buck thread" got buried ill ask it here...why does tine length hurt a bucks score? Personally i like a typical rack with tall tines

It doesn't. The longer the tines the better the score.

It won't... The taller the tines the more inches, obviously. Maybe you are thinking in terms of deductions? If so, the deductions wouldn't come into play on the tine length. For instance, if the left G2 is 8 inches and the right G2 is 10 inches as opposed to the 8, there is no deduction there...you just gain 2 extra inches in score total haha. Now another example is if both G2s are 10 inches but one has a 2 inch kicker/sticker on it, that would be a deduction in score for gross/net scoring.

I don't think that's correct. Pretty sure, that's 2 inches in deductions, i.e., you only get credit as if both G2 tines were 8 inches.
