I don't think that's correct. Pretty sure, that's 2 inches in deductions, i.e., you only get credit as if both G2 tines were 8 inches.

Correct, if you are looking for record book scoring (i.e. the net score). The typical measurement a hunter will use/go by is the gross score of the buck. For the gross score, you only add up the totals from both sides. For the net, you will subtract the difference in those totals.

Where the quote came from

"For most people, this gross antler score is all that you need to see where your deer’s antlers rank. A common phrase is “nets (meaning net score after deductions) are for fishermen”, but if you want to be entered into the record books, deductions will have to be subtracted from the gross score of the antlers. The deductions will be the differences between the left side tines, circumferences and all scorable abnormal points."

P&Y scoring

Another example on the difference between the gross score and the final "net" score. Like I mentioned, most people will go by the gross score. For those wanting RB consideration, you must use the net score.

Hope that clears it up!

Totally agree, I thought you were saying that difference in tine length was not a deduction. Which, technically they are.

Obviously, I (everyone I hunt with) think deductions are stupid and keep track of gross score only...although, we use gross plus kickers cuz that makes the number bigger, too!

Not sure. Here is another pic of A

Maybe it is. Just strange that he showed up in that spot. He was way across the property and none of the Bucks he runs with have showed up there.
