This thread raises an interesting question though: is it more ethical to attempt a head shot with a .243 or a shoulder shot? Both have astronomical odds of crippling a deer and not finding it.

That was absolutely a legit picture immediately after my dog found a deer shot behind the shoulder at 30 yards with a .243 and according to my GPS collar it ran 109 yards and there was no blood trail.
