New dog, Rye, is getting the job done extremely well. And he has that British disposition of Banner. Will be a stud next season. Great camp dog, too. May be a bit too frisky to help make HHC, though. We need to look for dates this month. I'm hongry.

Sorry for the loss mine hunted at 13 as well, not tough mud slogs late in season but easy retrieves in warm water. My wife swore that old dog was deaf, naaa he just ignored her and only payed attention to what he wanted to. He would be “asleep” in blind and I would not move except to flick off the safety …. He was wide awake at that little click ;)

Sorry for the loss. Tough to let one go after that long. Had to put down my cur at 14 in Jan of last year, but like you, was blessed with a good replacement.
