It's one of the premium options available, along with the TC Encore. Much better than the Elite Stalker, handi-rifles, 35.

I recently bought an Apex in 35 Whelen. No complaints so far. I changed the factory mount to a DNZ 1-piece and put a Nikon Prostaff 5 in 2.5x10x40 on it. I am shooting the Federal Premium Vital-Shok 225 Grain Trophy Bonded Bear Claw ammunition (bought from Midway USA)

The gun is very accurate, feels very balanced, and shoots great. I have not shot a deer with it yet but hopefully this weekend I can get some blood on it.

That's the best factory round from what we've gathered

Bought my son the H&R .35 Remington for primitive hunting. It's a fine cartridge that's toned down from the other 3.

[quote] mine seems to hate the Hornady superperformance.[/quote

Same here, I went to Barnes 180gr TTSX with great results. I will be loading mine own next year.

In LA./MS., 35 Whelen is one of the best (if not the best) deer hunting rounds.
