Well everyone is in safe and the basic rules have been distributed and discussed.

We shared some wild hog brawts and bourbon and they are all off to bed to get some rest.

with low winds and cool spring temps I have a good feeling about the am hunt.

they are and will be hunting from 3 different stands at this point since on is a young fella.

This am they saw a Sow and 3 piglets cross a road but didn't get a shot and a yote which they took a 60 yard shot on and somehow missed.

They are going back out there this evening.

There are a shitload of coyotes where we will be tomorrow as well. Its gonna be interesting thats all i know. The hogs never been hunted here and we are putting out 150 lbs of mash later this afternoon in 5 different areas. One good thing is they are on two different islands so basically it could get violent very quickly.

Me too. I hate, and I mean HATE to have people in and no pigs. But sometimes they are just not patterned well to stands or feeders. And not rooting fields.

well last night we all sat until 9 and then went to another property and stalked over 300 acres with a thermal scope. Not a damn pig in sight.

This am they all hunted again and all saw deer but no hogs.

mid day today I went out and scouted a part of the lease we have not been hunting as of yet and found little to no fresh sign. We did find one area of rooting and some tracks far back in the cut pines so hopefully a little change of scenery will put them on hogs this evening.

All hunters were in stands when they heard squeelng and one decided to stalk in to it. He closed 100+ yards in total darkness with the aide of a night vision headset. Just as he surveyed the field he had arrived at and decided he had missed the hogs he heard something crashing through the brush. Out popped this 210 lb boar and the hunter flipped off the nightvision and raised his rifle and led equipped scope. Pulling the trigger he found the saftey still halfway on. He recovered nicely and with the hog gaining distance he placed a single 270 bullet a bit low of his target. He transected the carotids and a fragment hit the spine stopping the hog in its tracks.

They still have another day if hunting so hopefully they manage to find more.
