You hated the 30-30 because you were trying to shoot distances that the gun was not designed for. You should be mad at yourself for not doing your homework prior to buying a gun.

I'm not claiming to be an expert on anything, I'm just saying that it's more likely user error on that guys part than gun error. Poor gun selection by the shooter is not the gun's fault.

Fewer "woods" and more hunting over lanes and plots, with 200+ yard shots. So many people anymore don't hunt anything but a lane and/or a plot.

I grew up hunting with a Model 94 Trapper, and will likely take it some this year, I've killed a sack full of deer with it. Excellent for hunting from horse.

Mouth breathers sometimes flip open a dictionary but that doesn't change the sound they make. Sucks you can't make a decent 200 yard shot with a 30-30 but that's a reflection of your skill not anyone else's. Dumb is talking about something you haven't shot in 20 years.
