We would be lucky if we had a season next year. But it's easy to catch them 9 miles out. What's more aggravating is AJs and triggers.

Here's the Gulf Shareholders' Alliance statement on the subject. Spoiler alert, it's all our fault and these fish aren't free. Unless the rights to fish them are gifted to you through a back room deal with NOAA, because then yeah they are free. Suck it poors.

The only reason it is 3 days is because if they made it a day or less better grounds for a lawsuit. Do you believe me now when I warned about this years ago. This is the first step in the elimination of ability of local people to catch fish in federal waters. Amerjacks triggerfish and grouper are next

People have been saying this since IFQ was instituted, it's not exactly been subtle.

I like how they casually leave out the amount caught by commercial fishermen.

Should call those two dickbags listed at the bottom of the press release non stop. What a sack of shite, recreation fisherman have just as much right to the resource as anyone. How is it that we can't get anything done on this? I know that most of the Snapper caught are from Texas/Louisiana/Mississippi/Alabama/Florida, but any state that lies on the coast should understand this overreach can eventually affect their fisheries. If we got all the politicians from those states to pile in, I'm not sure why we can't get something worked out.

They listed no sources for an assessment of the population following the new laws for the gulf states regarding pushing state waters out to 9 miles last year. They straight up said we are doing this because y'all did that. WTF kind of shite is this?

These bureaucracies need to be scrubbed from stem to stern. These are the assholes that you need to watch out for, not necessarily the politicians. It's these faceless/nameless sacks of shite who are regulating our country to death. No one elected these assholes to a damn thing, yet they have the ability to lay down onerous unfair rules like this.
This shite really needs to come to a head.
