Trade that thing in on a .308. Or even a regular 270Win or a 30-06. Or a 300 Win Mag.

Or buy your own powder, primers, and bullets.

I sold my 270wsm and bought 2 Remington 700 7mm rem mags. Turned one into a full custom rifle. I'd sell it and buy a 308, 270, 3006.

Don't reload for 270wsm. You can't get more brass for it. Get a normal caliber no matter what.

don’t follow the WSMs at all but could you neck down a .300 wsm to get to a .270?

Yes. 270wsm. Same parent case.

I'd love to buy a 45-70 lever action gun.

Is ammo for that system too scarce to buy the rifle?

45-70 ammo is available but got dam it’s expensive. I recommend saving all your brass and get set up to reload. I won’t get a new caliber without a set of dies/brass/powder so that I can make ammo whenever I choose.

I'm in the same boat, but the only rounds my gun has ever shot consistently are the Federal Fusions and I haven't seen that in 270 wsm in two years.

Time for a new xbolt

243, 308, 270win, 3006, etc. Stick with those.

Plenty at $1.93 to $2.30 a rd. You can also buy it in bulk ammo.

What’s the wsm advantage over std 270?

Coolness. Twenty or so years ago the short magnums were the rage much like the cripplemore is today.
I’ll stick with the standard calibers that have killed shite my whole life.

If by coolness you mean pushing the same bullet 150-200 fps faster in a shorter and lighter rifle then yeah. Deer aren’t hard to kill with prettymuch anything, but I’ll never understand why people get salty over the mere invention of anything new since 1923.

These are the same people that get bent out of shape for someone using a cross bow to hunt with, and scream that it isn't a primitive weapon, yet they themselves are using a $1500 compound bow with carbon fiber limbs and 90% let off.

I have both 270WSM and 270. I prefer the 270WSM. It has better ballistics, flatter shooting etc. By a lot? No. Will it kill a deer any deader than a 270? No. If I could only have one I'd choose the 270 due to ammo cost/availability. But I do prefer the 270WSM and can't really explain why. Probably because my dad gave it to me and I've had some really great hunts with it.

To the OP, thanks for the heads up on Academy carrying these now.

I took my scope off mine last yr and bought a regular 270. Last thing i did was found some of those you listed early last year before a trip to kentucky. Gog 2 boxes. When sighting in i ran into a couple that would not even chamber. So i took them out and measured. They was off.. so i opend both boxes and measured every bullett. Out of the 2 boxes i found 8 bullets that were too long by millimeters. Bolt wouldnt close... put the gun in the safe, and took my 308. When i got home i contacted winchester, after 2 months of dealing with them, and sendn in all both boxes. They fully refunded me.

In short, those bullets were garbage. And on top of it the 5 or 6 i did shoot to zero in gun were all over the paper. Wont buy those again

Because it seldom lasts because someone thinks there is something better. It's just more speed. What happened to the 7mm Stw and Ultra Mag? Gimmicks

The military has changed calibers more than their underwear.
