I know a few people here haven't been able to find any ammo for these guns for a while without it being $100/box. Academy now has some online and in some stores. I just loaded up since I am down to about 5 bullets and was going to have to buy a new gun for next year (at least thats the excuse I was going to tell my wife).

Trade that thing in on a 6.5 Creedmoor or a .308. Or even a regular 270Win or a 30-06. Or a 300 Win Mag.

That was all a consideration, but now that I found some at a "reasonable" price I don't need to.

308 kills them just as dead and you can find rounds anywhere.

I was in the predicament but ended up finding that same ammo at an Academy here in TX close to where I work, so I bought 8 or so boxes to give me a total of 14 now. I think I am good for a while. I do have 2 Browning 270wsm's though, but still, I should be good for a long long time with 14 boxes.

They were probably better shots with old rifles and iron sights at reasonable ranges than every Tom, Dick, and Harry that has purchased a Cripplemore and the latest in 4-32x56 scope technology that uses the wrong ammo at unreasonable ranges.

It’s not going to get any better with the WSM cases, especially the 270 WSM. Browning/winchester is actively trying to kill it with the 6.8 western due to legal issues. It’s a great round so if you plan to keep the gun it’s time to learn to handload while components are somewhat easy to get ahold of.

I don’t follow the WSMs at all but could you neck down a .300 wsm to get to a .270?
