I just saw that too. ROC didn't produce Covid test results prior to this game and they had a few players out in their last game that tested positive.

Wtf? Am I tripping or are the Canada and Russia teams playing with masks on? I’ve never seen that in a sporting event before. How stupid 
I couldn’t imagine playing an entire game with a mask on. Think someone would die if they did that in soccer.

I train in the spring using an altitude mask (aka elevation training mask), it inhibits performance to a degree but it isn't the end of the world for someone in good aerobic shape. Competing on the world stage is stupid though.
ETA Canada could beat the ROC with three N95 masks on with Russia on supplemental oxygen.
