Wow. I have to admit, I shrugged him off too. So many Hollywood actors have a political stance that I tune them all out....kinda feel like a goob now though...or would that be a gump

When I first heard about it, my initial reaction was: Costner's been funding this thing quietly for over a decade...not sticking out his chest and talking about what a great fricking guy he is. Such humility is a rarity among the Hollywood humanitarian attention whores.

I think the next time one of his movies comes up I will not talk quite so badly of it, like I normally do with his movies. Other than Dances with Wolves.

if we spill it, he will come....

seriously, when i first saw this machine it was incredible that BP would not listen or accept his help. should have had these machines being mass produced and out in the water immediately....maybe/hopefully soon. we need all the help we can get.

the 'technology' used in this machine has been around for 70+ years and can be found on every producing oil platforum in the gulf.

he just decided to use it on open water contaminated with oil.

i'm assuming that 26 is inclusive of the costs to build these machines (i never said they were cheap), overhead, ancillary equip, demonstrations, etc. but the 'technology' is not what he spent money on.

Thought I saw somewhere that his brother was involved in the invention process.
Either way, good for him. A lot of people pegged him as a sensationalist when he first announced this machine. He sounds like a genuinely concerned person, though.

Good deal........glad to hear it, well handled by Costner...I can think of a few hollywood types who if they owned this sort of technology and they were turned down would do the hollywood thing and lash out in the media at all involved.

Very well handled. Persistence pays off.
