already posted over there. hence, my callous response. this morning it was depressing. Thankfully three hours has sealed the wounds and i began to realize that most birds just crap all over my car and on special occasions, those little turds have crapped on me. i told them retribution was on its way.

Although it's terrible (the pictures and the whole disaster), the comments at the bottom are hilarious. People are really stupid:

quote:

When I wake in the morning and remember whats happeing in the Gulf, I feel nausiated. For the first time I started riding my bike to work and using my car only for importaint reasons, I believe and hope that more previously enviormentally uncaring people are waking up and start doing their own little bit for our planet. We need a fuel alternative NOW, not 5-10 years from now or us and our children are all dead.
quote:

However, BP is just a temporary name for the bad-guys in this business. Take Exxon, Shell and whatnot.. bad-arse companies, too - just lucky it wasn't their well this time. Their profits should be entirely taken for research and development of renewable energy sources instead of making rich people more rich. If that's guaranteed I won't complain paying a much higher price for fuel.
quote:

I've been wondering if our nation is ever going to step back and see the big picture here, and it's tragic it takes an event of this magnitude in order for some people to realize not only how we're destroying ourselves and each other, but also everything around us.

No wonder it's easy for some people to despise this place. What's so great about the (former) greatest country in the world?
quote:

Hi, everyone who is making a comment, you're not making a difference.
Thanks for reading,
if you read this, you could have been helping.
Yes I wrote this, but its not on my priority.
quote:

These birds speak for themselves... WHY YOU HUMANS DO THIS TO US, WHY! SHAME ON YOU!
And all because of the oil for our computers, cars, iphones, electricity, etc.

Use it all you want but quit pussy footing around and stop the fricking leak. BP still being in charge of this at this point is a joke was more my point than to stop using oil, idiot.

Who would you rather be trying to stop this leak?

Yeah, you're right. BP is obviously an expert in this field.

they didn't do the proper prep work for this catastrophe. that doesn't mean they aren't the best qualified to fix it. it's taking a while because they are trying things that might work. no one has any more experience with this than them.

How many failed attempts are we at?

Also, I found this funny, sad, and interesting.

quote:

James Cameron doesn’t really understand story structure in movies, but he has spent over 3000 hours on deep water dive sites like the Titanic and the Bismarck, and he holds several patents for inventing cases and robotic equipment made to handle the extreme pressure and cold found at the ocean floor. And he’s the dumb one in the family. His brother Mike is nothing short of an engineering genius.

So, it does make some degree of sense that the United States government would ask the director of Avatar to brainstorm ideas to fix the BP oil leak. He’s worked in tougher conditions than this (the BP leak is 1 mile down, the Bismarck was 2 miles down, the Titanic 2.5) and figured that stuff out. But it turns out they won’t be using any of Camerons ideas. Oh and he’s just thrilled about it. Yahoo says…

“Over the last few weeks I’ve watched, as we all have, with growing horror and heartache, watching what’s happening in the Gulf and thinking those morons don’t know what they’re doing,” Cameron said at the All Things Digital technology conference.
Cameron said he has offered to help the government and BP in dealing with the spill. He said he was “graciously” turned away by the British energy giant.
Cameron suggested the U.S. government needed to take a more active role in monitoring the undersea gusher, which has become the worst oil spill in U.S. history.
“I know really, really, really smart people that work typically at depths much greater than what that well is at,” Cameron said.
