The grown up thing to do would be to tell your buddy that you know he's cheating on his girlfriend and that if you know, it will only be a matter of time before she knows, not because you'll tell anyone (because you absolutely shouldn't) but because it will just become more and more obvious. So for the sake of the group, he should break it off with his girlfriend and keep the side piece and neither of you will ever tell anyone, or break it off with the side piece and never tell anyone. Just depends on how he feels about the girlfriend (though given that he's cheating on her I'm willing to bet he could pretty much take her or leave her).
