alls i know is that my commute F'n sucks, and i have a challenge motivating myself to leave house at 5:20 AM to make the commute suck less.

I don't know your specifics, but there is usually a better way than what you are taking. Traffic sucks in a lot of places. I went with my brother to the Ole Miss game last year and we got in on Friday and got delayed a little by stopping and meeting some old friends for lunch which put us in Baton Rouge traffic. The traffic that day far exceeded any shitty traffic I've ever experienced in Houston. I've seen shitty traffic in many cities...Houston can be bad too, but like I said, there is usually a faster way.

Nah. No faster way than to get on the interstate by 5:30

However, I will take driving in Houston over Baton Rouge rush hour traffic every single time

Those morons really can't drive and have no clue what merging is

Some places are that way and there isn't a shortcut. Just depends on the individual situation.

BR rush hour traffic will make you want to abandon your car and go sit in a bar.

It's also cool enough of a city for LSU to give BR a middle finger and play it's home games here.

yeahhh...that involves more money. Not a city comparison

This reaction is what is forced. I posted an article from a national publication about the city in which I live. I added a touch of troll because I know the general feelings toward the city on this board and knew it would get a rise out of people.

I thought the touch of TD stuff in the OP would show the lighthearted nature of the post. Maybe you're a bit defensive and didn't allow yourself to see it.

eta:
I mostly agree with the rest of your post, although I have no idea how a city forces culture. It's a diverse city (most diverse according to the last census). The culture is as natural as the migration of diverse population to it.

Neither katy nor Westpark toll way will help you if you don't leave early enough

There are only thousands of remaining katrina evacuees in a city of 5mm. Not very impactful anymore

This is a well and true statement.

Baton Rouge, in particular, has the worst drivers in the worst driving state.

I don't get the hate for Houston.

People are insecure and afraid of what they don't know. I rarely meet someone that has lived in Houston and speaks badly about it.

You can't live here without the ez pass. It is a life saver.

Looking to move to NYC now though

Texas is way worse. They just cannot understand lane assignment...lived in both and currently in Houston.
