What kind of minimum wage job pays 100% benefits and gives a severance....

Read the Instagram he posted a link to.

What on earth.
Who tf takes a selfie sitting on the toilet.
On one hand, it hurts that people are this dumb and clueless. On the other hand, less job competition for me.

Did she really bitch about have her insurance covered 100% except for $20 copays?

What a delusional idiot

I just don't see how I'm supposed to feel sorry for someone that chose to move to one of the most expensive areas in the country....without a high paying job.
My brother currently lives in Oakland and works in San Francisco. He is the epitome of a starving artist. No college education. Lives with a bunch of other hippie artists in some art house. Works a low paying job that he would never complain of like that...he's thankful for the job(it's with a pretty amazing company...won't post the name though). And he doesn't own a car(not when public transportation there is great). You will never hear him whine or complain though...he's just loving his hippie/artist life and just happy to be around so much art there.

She is gonna be in for a rude awakening on that one, that was a very nice thing her employer offered that isn't the norm. She's what, 25? So only a year left that she could stay on her parents insurance while she is not employed.

She was stupid for moving to San Francisco without a higher paying job as it is an expensive city. But, her point is well made. We need to give people living wages. This is exactly why the minimum wage needs to be $15 per hour - so we don't have %15.0m CEO's and starving employees.

Didn't even know that yelp had employees

I think the CEO made his point better.
Maybe he saw her Instagram and thought he was paying her well enough. Maybe he saw that she had an iPhone and Ray-Bans and decided that she was paid enough if she could afford those things. Maybe he knew she had cable and thought if she could afford those things, she was getting paid well enough.
She didn't "make her point". She exposed to the world that she is a naïve millenial.

I agree that she made some bad decisions and that she did not make her point well. BUT her situation shows just how bad wage disparity is in this country.

Yelp CEO is tweeting now. I'll post them when he finishea.

Yet, she has it so much better than the majority of the rest of the world. She had 100% paid benefits, how many people making minimum wage get that? In her self-pity, she fails to realize the advantages she had.

I think it probably goes more to show that if you have a job that only pays X amount, sometimes you have to make sacrifices depending on your personal situation.
Sometimes that means having roommates, foregoing things like cable, keeping luxury expenses to a minimum, etc.
It's called career progression. You start off making less money. You work hard. You do a good job. You move on to a better paying job. Rinse and repeat.
I will never feel sorry for an entry level worker who thinks they are entitled to a ticket to easy street.

I can also afford everything she states she can't because I am not living in the most expensive area of the entire country.
You people are so pathetically entitled that it makes me sick.
Oh, I also have $200k+ debt.
You entitled, spoiled pricks make me embarrassed to be a millennial.
