WWOTD: Just watched a truck back into a car while trying to parallel park

Sitting at the Capitol Annex waiting for the House to convene at 2:00 and watched a pickup truck back into a car while the truck was trying to parallel park in front of the car. Guy got out of the truck and looked at the car, then looked around, then walked off. The car has a pretty good dent in the front bumper from the trailer ball hitch hitting it but probably won't be noticed by the car owner. Leave a note for the car owner? Say the hell with it and walk off?

Unless you called the cops out there now, not sure how you could ever prove the truck caused the damage.
So I say either call cops or do nothing.

Someone did this to my wife's 5 series while we were in a restaurant. We got a police report, but didn't do anything with it. She just has a dent in the plastic bumper until we decide to buy a new one and get it painted.

Your wife's car wasn't enough, you just had to try and brag about a 5 series?
That's what she gets for having a worthless vehicle.

You tried a hair dryer on it?
If you use a heat gun, be careful as they get too hot.

We had just returned from driving my TACOMA all over the Sierras and offroading numerous times with zero damage...get home go to lunch and her fricking car gets damage. If it had happened to her Camry, which she had before, I wouldn't have given a shite. Honestly.

Come on, Man. Leave a note with the truck's LP and take a pic of the proximity. Leave your cell number and advise if they want the pic to text you. Up to them after that. Sleep well.

I wouldn't do anything
It wasn't my car so I wouldn't care
I like to stay out of other peoples business

If his truck's still there, leave a note on the car with his license plate number.
I had a situation a couple weeks back where the weather got really bad. Very windy. When I opened my door, it flew open into the car next to me. I thought for sure there would be a huge dent. I ran my hand all around the area and could not for the life of me find a mark. Nothing on my door either. I just left it at that. I'm pretty sure the security guard at the building saw the whole thing. I felt a little weird just walking away. I don't know what to do in that situation. I don't want to just leave my card. You might come across someone who is just going to find something wrong somewhere on their car and blame it on you. If I legitimately thought I caused any damage, I'd have owned up to it.

Get LP of truck and truck owner's picture.
Wait and see if the car owner is hot. Then adjust your plan accordingly.

Check the license plate. If the dented car belongs to a regular citizen, leave a note. If it was a legislator, you didn't see anything.

What would you want done if it was your car that got hit and someone saw it?

I like his style. Make it look like you give a shite to anyone who may have witnessed it. Respect.
