You see that Grand Canyon sized gap between "shot on sight" and "ok", that's where I'm at.

Fair enough. I'm thismuch closer to the former than the latter.

I think it's unethical to even shoot someone looting for TVs and stuff, honestly

Absolutely not. But that's a far cry from the big screen TV and speakers.

Why kill another human over a TV that can be deducted as a disaster loss?

I know the law says differently but my morals don't consider killing looters murder. It should be perfectly legal and, in fact, encouraged.

you'd feel the same way if your brother got drunk and decided it would be funny to go steal something after the storm?

i can't even fathom the world that some of you live in that you think it is okay to take a life over theft of property, which, theoretically, should be covered by insurance.

your 37" vizio isn't really worth a life.

And so if that hurricane destroys a TV, then yes it could get deducted. Why would a looter want a TV destroyed by a hurricane?

If it gets looted it gets trickier. Most flood policies don't cover rioting or looting.

I'd tell him he's being an idiot and to STFU. I have done this before BTW.

If a homeowner came out and shot him after he broke into someone's house I wouldn't blame the homeowner.

Have a good friend who is a State Trooper, he told me about the sniper stuff before Kyle's book came out. Maybe the trooper was passing along a rumor, but he seemed to believe it.
