Rather lose a leg. Have to have arms for a number of reasons, and having blades for legs like Oscar Pistorious (sp?) would be kinda cool

After a few knee/ankle surgeries and shoulder surgeries, I would vote leg. Even when it was just my left arm that was cut on it was a severe PITA.

Leg for sure. Like others have mentioned you use your arms for more & Leg prosthetics seem to be a little less complex than arm prosthetics.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people with a lost arm still use the Roy Munson hook. I don't want that.

Leg for sure. Can you imagine not being able to physically hold your loved ones in your arms?

Rather keep arm. Not even close. Can still play golf and even walk with prosthetics.

Leg for sure, good prosthetics for replacement legs, but nothing for the arm and precise movements of the hand.

Leg. Easily. I can get one of those curved leg things and barley notice.

If I lost an arm id lose my guitar and my keyboard and golf and hugging and multiple things in the bedroom and then probably my mind and happiness

Arm, easily.

I had a cast up to my shoulder for 6 months in highschool. It wasn't that bad. Fishing sucked though.

If it was financially possible, I would replace my arm with a robotic one this afternoon.

I've had two shoulder surgeries rendering me without use of one arm for 6+ weeks each time. I have also had hip surgery putting me in a wheelchair so I've got a pube hair of experience. That being said, I would rather lose a leg.

This.

There is a guy at my office who has a fake leg, but you can't see it under his work slacks and he barely walks with a limp. His knee bends like a normal knee, even when he sits down. Really cool.

In 10-15 years, they'll have accessible arm prosthetics that can be controlled with the brain...according to 60 minutes. They showed a human trial and it was crazy. He thought "squeeze hand" and the prosthetic squeezed.

I don't understand how people say arm. Try walking with a prosthetic leg and then try writing with a fake arm

Although I think I will change my answer, I write with my right arm. I would lose my left.

I'd lose a leg over an arm. They can make a prosthetic leg no problem, and I don't know what I would do if I couldn't hold my children without them freaking the hell out because daddy has a stump or a metal thing on his arm.
