Considering the cost of living up here, that is a fricken deal.

part of me agrees

living up here in Boston, the $2k is fine, that's not the big detractor. It's trying to live as a professional.....with 50 other fricking people

I think I could probably do it month to month if I just moved to a city, just to get my bearings before I actually got a place of my own.....maybe

OT on the OT, but the new show Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders aired the very first episode a week before my Thailand trip and guess where it was set, THAILAND! My mom wasn't too happy.

NYC and SF are amazingly high.

For $2000, you don't have to deal with the electric company, or really much except dealing with drunk people in the hallways.

more specific pricing:

Bed - $1375
Room - $2,000
Studio $2,550

wifi & beer - tack on $125 to that

For the hefty starting prices of $1,375 for an individual bed, $2,000 for a private room, and $2,550 for a studio, you can be one of the first people to try out the what future generations will likely point to as “the day everything went to shite.” Throw in an extra $125 and you’ll find yourself with high-speed internet, snazzy Bose speakers, a lot of beer, and “wellness classes.”

Doesn't seem like a bad deal. Studio apartments are probably 2k in Manhattan anyway. And you're guaranteed that your neighbors are other 20-something's, and not a middle aged recluse in a rent controlled apartment. Plus the free beer and coffee.

I see they're opening in Crystal City up here. It could be a reasonable option although Crystal City is a bit out of the way.

For lower Manhattan though this is probably a pretty good deal. If I were in my 20's, single and new in town I'd seriously look into it.

If I was single and in NYC I would get one of the studio or 1 bd rooms no problem there as long it was in a good area, I would never rent a room in one of the 2 or 3 bd room units though.

No indeed. I would not want the community stuff. You know good and well people would not be considerate at all. Heaven forbid you have some stupid fat BLM girl that tried to act like you using the kitchen when she wanted it was a way of infringing her rights and keeping her down
