Ya, there is a video out there from Honduras that shows how dangerous one person with a knife can be.
If you have any doubts about a knife up close, watch the video.
Not you rando, but whoever you are responding to.

If I were to brandish any sort of weapon towards LEOs, I would expect bad times to ensue.
Call me crazy.
Call me crazy.

If she's that mentally unstable, why was she allowed to have all those kids?
I hate when government encroaches on people's lives, but I really do think it should be easier for the state to remove children from bad homes/parents. There are a lot of good people willing to adopt.
I'd rather tax dollars go to increased social workers to remove these kids than to welfare to support Charleena's 5 chillrens.

too “tiny” for officers to have felt threatened by her — even if she had a knife
Pretty sure the knife will stab/cut the same whether its a "tiny" 100 lb woman wielding it or a 250 lb man.

Did you really need to put "liberal Seattle" in the title?

What are the odds the one sister in Seattle gets shot?

Ditto.
In my last stop in the cane fields I exited the vehicle hands raised and still had a bottle of bourbon in one hand.
The officer in question thankfully found it funny.

Cops need to be trained to shoot a knife out of someone's hand
bullshite.
Aim for center mass. Continue firing until threat is no longer a threat.
Firearms are not for show and not for warnings.

A knife inside of 15 ft is more dangerous than a gun.

But you are smart enough that you understand your actions will have reactions from other parties, so you probably wont ever be shot by an officer.
Do exactly what the officer says when he says to do it. You are not going to win an argument with a police officer during the confrontation. Do what they say, and if the officer was out of line you can fight it in court or in the court of public opinion.
Like the old saying: Life is hard and its even harder when you are stupid.

Stupid people think otherwise.

Can be as dangerous as a gun maybe. More dangerous. Nope. Not unless you can stab someone 15 times at 1,090 FPS semi automatically.
Mythbusters test never bringing a knife to a gunfight
