$5 slot max bet is up there close. I lost $500 in 5 dollar slots in about 30 seconds while waiting for a cab a few years ago.

and if this happened on a reservation then I doubt that anything will come of this except people bitching and getting screwed over. Not sure what anyone can do to an Indian casino on the reservation. I'm not sure what the extent of their sovereignty is.

It sucks that this happened and the casino could do anything with that machine. hell, they could have another machine in the back that really is broken that they claimed was the one on the floor.

This. Good luck suing this Indian casino in Indian court before a panel of Indian elders. I'm sure she'll win.

I said egregious errors. 5000 to 8000000 fits that pretty well.

Before I pass judgement, I want to know what game and what the max jackpot is. If the jackpot was actually $8m and the malfunction was incorrectly landing on it then I agree, its a sham. If the jackpot was $10k and the machine actually malfunctioned to reach $8m then thats another story.

The only jackpots worth $8 million are progressive jackpots on machines linked together, usually at many different locations, and the manufacturer of the linked machines is responsible for paying the jackpot in exchange for a percentage of the win from each machine. So the progressive jackpot operator is a better target for a lawsuit than the casino since they are ultimately responsible for the prize.

The manufacturer will have a vested interest in showing its machines operate properly since an admission of malfunction calls into question all progressive jackpots it operates. The manufacturer will have more incentive to reach a negotiated settlement than the casino since the casino will ultimately blame the manufacturer, and the manufacturer will not want to alienate the casino, and its peers who will surely have an interest in the outcome.

Whoa, big numbers. What is 1+2 Kindergarten teacher. These numbers are more fitting for someone of such lower intelligence like yourself.

So they admit it's not a random game of chance? How is that legal?

Going on the assumption it is a native american casino, they can basically do whatever they want it's sovereign land.

Well thanks for helping out, but unfortunately those numbers aren't relevant to the story.

The casino probably could have made this all go away by giving her 8,000 cash.

Stupid not to.

What slot machine pays $8 million dollars?

Either way, it's sketchy that they took it immediately and gave her an $80 check to GTFO. She can lawyer up, but it is an Indian casino with their own Indian Reservation laws, and they probably wiped the machine and videos already. She isn't getting jack shite out of it
