Will Mayor Broome make the same mistake as Mayor Bradley?

LA Mayor Bradley held a press conference right after the jury announcement of not guilty for the LAPD officers in the beating of Rodney King 25 years and 3 days ago. While the rioting would've without a doubt probably happened without his comments, they did begin within moments due to them as many historians have suggested.
In his presser, he stated "I was stunned. I was shocked. I was outraged. People have to vent their anger; their frustration. This was shocking. Nobody could have anticipated this verdict."
No calls for calmness. No pleas for levelheadiness to overcome emotions. Will we see history repeated tomorrow?

Kip did the second best thing by disappearing last year. If the new mayor has any nuts she will stand up for the police and condem any protest. Baton Rouge lost a few good men both black and white to this bullshite.

That's because Kip is a business minded centrist democrat who knows better than to politicize volatile and racially tinged situations in a parish that's still 50% white.
Kip was the best mayor BR has ever had given his pretty good handling of its finances and economic development. He was like a 90s Bill Clinton for BR.

you know she won't do what you suggest (it would be a MIGHTY shock if she did anything close to it)
so Kip's route would be the best thing BR can realistically hope for from Broome
if she's out there with her shirt on again... BR is perhaps extra-royally screwed

I don't think you know the meaning of "without a doubt" or "probably"

I think she'll come out and condemn Alton Sterling for his lengthy arrest record and history of violence. Condemn him for being in the act of violating the law, resisting authorities and illegally carrying a firearm. She'll cry out for her people to have more accountability for their actions, a greater sense of self respect and human decency. Challenge them to look inward first when searching for the answers to the problems that plague their day to day lives. Let them know that solely laying the blame on the feet of others and pointing toward the past as an excuse to give up on the future is a destructive mind set. She'll plead with the commurnity to look at the facts of the case, stand up for her police force and vow to stomp out, by any means necessary, any and all acts of civil unrest that turn violent or destructive.
Or she'll surround herself with idiots and fiddle while the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Well, she has at least been calling for peace and prayers no matter what is announced. As for her defending the verdict or the police, I doubt that will happen.

Broome didn't wear the shirt. Marcelle did.

The glaring difference is the entire country thought those cops were guilty. I was only 18 at the time. Everyone was stunned.
My girlfriend was 4 in 1992 and saw the beating on YouTube for the first time last week. She said what he do? I said he ran from the cops and didn't put his hands behind his back because he was so frickin loaded he didn't know what the hell was going on.
So yea. Those cops got off the hook and it stunk like shite to everyone.
Nobody is going to be shocked by DOJ clearing the officers of violating Sterling's civil rights.

Sorry. Except Livingston Parish white men.
The majority of the country expected a conviction of at least one of the officers. You know that's true.
